As of 03/21/2008 we are registered and incorporated in the State of Texas as a Non-Profit Corporation. We are a 501c3 Tax Exempt
organization as designated by the US Internal Revenue Service.

The BacktoWild Foundation
Restoring Nature, one small piece at a time...
1. Size - 18+ hectares (40 acres)
2. Price - at or below comparable market prices, judged on a US dollar per hectares average, determined by survey of nearby properties.
3. Characteristics - ranch or farmland, adjacent to ranch or farmland, waterway or beach front, or adjacent to other development (tourist,
community, national parkland, other protected area or eco-park).
4. Not bordered by public road or highway.  No public, private or livestock thoroughfare.  Presence of wildlife desirable.  Removable structures
and roads.  No Federal or Local easements.
5. Final Selection - properties are presented via email to Membership Council for review and approval.
Property Selection Criteria
1.  Property is analyzed to measure conformance with Property Selection Criteria.
2.  Purchase Proposal is submitted to Membership committee for comments/approval.
3.  Purchase Offer is made to owner at 10% less than asking price.
4.  Purchase is negotiated and closed.
5.  Purchase funds are transferred and title received.
Property Purchase Procedures
Property Rehabilitation Procedures
1.  Subject property undergoes ecologic analysis as a continuation of Selection Criteria.
2.  Economic activity is removed (livestock, agriculture).
3.  Land is closed to public or livestock access through a wildlife friendly fencing system.
4.  Reforestation Phase is carried out.
5.  Physical structures and roads/paths are removed and reforested.
6.  Local Community volunteers are used as part of community education, classes are given to local elementary/secondary school students.
Progress Assessments and Analysis
1.  Annual grants are given to university students specializing in Sustainability and Environmental Science, ideally one in-country and one
out-country student.
2.  Students and local partner employees will spend several weeks jointly working with local students to analyze the physical conditions and
progress of the mitigation.
3.  Flora and fauna inventories will be conducted.
4.  Progress reports will be incorporated into Back to Wild newsletter and annual reporting.
Foundation Growth Strategy
1.  Establish strategic partnerships with local, experienced partners and government (2008-2009).
2.  Fund local strategic partners work on Back to Wild selected, or jointly selected projects.
3.  Achieve major celebrity and corporate sponsorship by 2009.
4.  Fund spring break field trips for two US secondary school groups (2010).
5.  Complete initial projects in Mexico and Central America (2008-2010), expand on this success and complete initial projects in Latin America,
Africa, Asia and Oceania (2010-2013).
6.  Reinvest a small percentage of donations into Foundation marketing and development to grow the Back to Wild Foundation into an
internationally recognized foundation with the ability to perform successful projects all over the globe (Continuous).
7.  Achieve the vision of placing 1,000,000 hectares (2.24 million acres) under protection by 2030.
